How To Overcome Insecurities & Limiting Beliefs In Order To Win In Life

Have you ever had instances in your life when a certain failure completely destroyed your confidence, killed your desire to move ahead and made you doubt everything about yourself?

It happens to all of us.

And when it does, our mind starts playing tricks with us.

Most people realize that, which is why they go and buy self help books, enroll in motivational programs, practice meditation and pretty much do anything and everything to get into a positive frame of mind.

Now here’s what usually happens next:

After going through a ton of self help materials, attending a lot motivational classes, practicing positive reinforcements, and doing meditation….they realize they are STILL UNHAPPY.

But their mind tells them that they shouldn’t be feeling that way.

And this leads to FURTHER DOUBTS in their mind.

Now they start thinking:

“Am I doing it right?”

“Should I be meditating more?”

“What’s wrong with me? Why am I not feeling better when I am doing everything right?”

This creates an infinite loop of negativity that plunges them into a bottomless pit of despair.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that self help books or motivation courses don’t work…it’s just that when the core issue isn’t tackled, the success of these methods can be hit or miss.

The real solution to this problem is NOT in doing certain activities in a mechanical way but in changing the way we PERCEIVE everything around us.

This concept has been captured in a beautiful way in the book “The Untethered Soul” by Michael Singer. It’s heavy on Spirituality, but what he reveals in his book makes a LOT of sense and it flat out works.

In his book, Michael shares some very interesting insights on how you can overcome obstacles and move forward while being truly happy.

  1. He says that “YOU” are not your heart or your mind. You are your SOUL and you reside deep down in your body experiencing everything around you.
  2. You experience your outside world, your thoughts, emotions, pretty much everything from inside.
  3. And if you closely OBSERVE, you will see that you are NEVER at peace with yourself because something keeps bothering you.
  4. So you get these constant urges to do something about your situation in order to be at peace.
  5. Your mind starts trying to figure things out. It tells you what you should & should not do, what others should & should not do, how things should & should not be.
  6. Basically your mind creates a CONCEPTUAL WORLD where you would feel at peace and then tries to alter the outside world to match it.

So what happens now is:

When your mind gets what it wants, you feel happy and when it doesn’t, you feel sad.

When your mind experiences what it wants, you feel relief and when it doesn’t, you feel disturbance.

You can never experience true peace this way.

The world will never be like the conceptual model built by your mind. That’s why you need to GET OUT of it.

And the only way to get out of it and experience true peace is to UNLINK yourself from your outside world, your mind, your thoughts and your emotions.

You need to understand that it’s ok to have constant doubts in your mind.

It’s ok to feel miserable.

It’s ok to have self defeatist thoughts in your mind.

It’s ok to have nothing work out for you in the outside world.

When you are NOT okay, you will feel a lot of urges to do something about it to feel okay.

But the key is to NOT participate in any of those urges.

The problem people face is that whenever they experience any disturbance internally, their inner energies start going all crazy and they are drawn into giving into it and doing something about it.

This issue leads to some reckless action.

And it almost always never helps the person become peaceful.

You need to avoid this at all costs.

The KEY is to sit around your swirling thoughts, emotions and urges and let them run wild while doing nothing about it.

When you accept their existence without giving into them, something magical happens.

Slowly and steadily, you STOP BEING A SLAVE to them.

The disturbances inside you will always pass by itself. So when you don’t give into them when they run crazy, they will stop affecting you over time.

When you start doing that, you are no longer fighting to match the conceptual world built by your mind.

You are no longer playing any game where your peace is dependent on whether your mind gets what it wants or not.

You are busy living your life without getting bogged down by it.

When you keep away from engaging your inner energies, you experience a DEEPER & FAR MORE POWERFUL energy (Spirit) emerging from within you.

The Spirit helps you feel love and true joy.

You notice that the less you interact with your inner energies, the stronger your Spirit seems to be and the more love & joy you feel.

When that happens, you notice that it’s no longer about willpower. You are not fighting anything. You are disengaging from your inner energies to feel a stronger Spirit pervading over your body.

When you truly surrender yourself to the Spirit without worrying about what your mind or your thought says, you start feeling LASTING PEACE.

And when this happens, you can breeze through life interacting with everyone and everything WITHOUT involving your internal energy.

You are at total peace with yourself where nothing in the physical world, your mind & heart can affect you.
